Lessons at Green Savannah Stables, Inc.

Lessons for Our Clients and their Horses

Green Savannah Stables is excited to partner with several local riding instructors specializing in both dressage and jump instruction to offer on site lessons for our boarding clients. Talk with Kelly for more information about these opportunities.

Current Lesson Information as of July 2022
We do not currently have any lesson horses available on site. Therefore, we can only accommodate riders who have their own horse to ride for a lesson.

Kelly Anderson (803) 464-7654, the lead riding instructor and assistant manager, has taught children and adults from the very beginner levels to advance to proficient, life-long riders.  A Sumter native, she has been riding since she was a child.  She began riding with an interest in Western style riding but quickly decided she preferred English style or Hunt Seat which she competed in through high school at both local and breed association shows.  She also traveled the Southeast camping with the horses and riding trails in NC, GA, TN, and SC.  In college, she began breeding, raising, and training her own horses and pursued an interest in dressage.  She quickly fell in love with the discipline and pursued advancement in this highly technical sport by working with many different instructors.  She also continued to participate in local shows and trail ride while assisting with the management of Green Savannah and pursuing her career as a high school teacher. Kelly teaches full time at a local public high school and assists with stable management in her free time. Due to her increased responsibilities with her teaching career and management of the farm, she no longer keeps lesson horses available for a lesson program. She now only teaches lessons for those have their own horse to ride for the lesson. She enjoys working with all levels of riders and any discipline. She believes that all quality riding is founded in the basic principles of dressage and enjoys translating that into other disciplines and meeting riders and horses where they are. Her main focus is on helping to create strong partnerships between horse and rider and while emphasizing safety and enjoyment of the sport. She is available to travel to local farms for a small travel fee.  (803) 464-7654
