BOARDING INFORMATION

Boarding
We offer a range of boarding options from basic board to full care thus allowing each owner to customize his or her boarding plan to fit individual needs and schedules. Feeding only high quality locally grown Costal Bermuda hay and top quality Nutrena SafeChoice feed, we make certain that all horses are healthy and in good body condition. On site owners are able to offer full time care and personal attention to all of our horses. Green Savannah Stables, Inc. is a family oriented barn. Our riders are all ages from children to adults. Many riders focus on trail riding while some enjoy English pleasure, western pleasure, or dressage training and showing. Green Savannah is not a high pressure show barn nor are we competing to be on the cover of Luxury Stables Magazine and our prices reflect that. However, keeping the horses happy and well cared for is our top priority and something that we take very seriously. We feel that your trail horse deserves the same top care as your 4th level dressage star. Our focus is on providing a positive atmosphere for horse owners to safely enjoy their horses, pursue their training or showing goals, and spend time with other equestrian friends.
Both Basic Care and Full Care board packages include Nutrena SafeChoice feed and quality Coastal Bermuda hay fed twice daily. Horses are also provided fresh water several times daily.
Please browse our facilities tab and our FAQ tab for more information on the accommodations we offer to you and your horse.

Specialty Trainers:
As a courtesy to our boarders, we do occasionally invite outside specialty trainers to come to the barn to work with our riders. We encourage our boarders to contact us if they are interested in working with a specialty trainer.
Haul in/Arena Fee:
We require a $5 haul in/arena fee and a copy of a current coggins test for those who trailer in from other barns to ride at our facility for lessons, etc. Anyone interested in trailering in should contact Kelly at 803-464-7654 or greensavannahstables@gmail.com
Blanketing Information: Most horses do not need to be blanketed at all in the winter here at Green Savannah due to our mild SC winters and their access to a stall to keep them dry and out of the wind. We find most of our horses to be quite comfortable all winter long with no blankets. Therefore, we only offer blanketing services at this time for our full care customers for nights below 30 degrees for the average horse. For those with an especially short or thin coat, we adjust as needed.
Fans: Fans are set on timers to run for approximately 12 hours a day. This provides the horses with a nice breeze during the heat of the day.
A Note about our Paddocks: If you select a paddock stall or a stall with an attached turnout run, it must be kept free of manure and shavings from the stall. If you are cleaning your own stall, this is your responsibility. If you do not take care of this on a regular basis, we will ask you to step up to our full care package so that it can be consistently done.
A Note about our Pastures and Turnout System: We do not offer pasture only board. All of our horses have a stall to allow them to stay out of the elements during poor weather. We have several pastures that we use for turnout. All turnout is limited to 4 hours per horse per day. This allows horses to get out, run, stretch, kick, play, and socialize and then return to their stalls and paddocks so that another horse may be turned out to enjoy the pasture. Our 4 hour rotational system works well for our barn and our horses. We do not turnout in large groups to limit the possibility of injury to your horse. That is why our turnout time must stay limited to allow regular rotation. We do not rely on our pastures to provide grass as part of the horse's daily ration. We feed twice daily. Any grass provided on the pasture is intended to allow the horse to browse and munch while enjoying some time out each day. For those who feel their horse needs more time out or for those who cannot visit the barn regularly to turn their horse out, we offer regular board with attached runs as a boarding option for an increased price. Availability is limited.
